Luminous Daisies (Tanec Praha)

A year after our first public appearance in Helsinki, we are now back with the premiere of Luminous Daisies during the 37th edition of the international dance festival Tanec Praha in the Czech Republic!

My aim is to create wonder. Currently, many cultural institutions are suffering. There is an ongoing genocide that is being ignored, and proves how the ICC and ICJ are institutions that have failed to keep up with its goals set after the 2nd World War. ¹

What is important for me, to stay alive, is to never forget the beauty that we are surrounded with despite the horrors we are capable of. If we as a species fail to see the beauty inside ourselves, in others and around us, we will continue to feed fascist, capitalist and liberal systems that will inevitably continue to kill, and drive to extinction many other species around us. "Luminous Daisies" is a show that seems innocent from the outside. A simple starting point, a riddle aimed at the ones curious to know if they are loved. You take a flower and pluck the petals. (They love me, a little, a lot, passionately, madly, more than everything, not at all.) Of course, this game makes no sense. We can't guess someone's love, we can only speculate. Or you could simply ask the one you fell in love with, if they might feel the same. "Luminous Daisies," in a similar way, does not offer any answers, but proposes a different way of seeing your neighbourhood, brightened with Adriana Štefaňáková's movements and my drawings. It's an exploration, we are still young and full of ideas.
